Richards plans to bring on assistant coaches Tonnie Warren and Jeremy Thomas. With a fresh and young team, the coaches are excited to get going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m excited for the opportunity to build a girls program at Trinity Christian. Our girls are young and less experienced, but we look forward to learning and growing together,\u201d Richards said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lady Crusaders had their inaugural game on Nov. 28 where they fell to New Town, but they quickly changed gears and secured their first win as a team on Dec. 3 against Ray in the Trenton tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Junior Analise Hernandez led the team with 17 points in the game against Ray. Competing at a high level is always my agenda when I coach youth sports.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p>Returning players such as sophomore Ellie Haskins, as well as Renee Cross, are expected to be key contributors for the Comet Crusaders this season. While coach Washington praised Haskins&#8217; diligent work and commitment in the off-season, he sees Cross&#8217; versatility as a major asset heading into the winter basketball schedule.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p>&#8220;She is basically our do-it-all person,&#8221; Washington says of Cross. &#8220;She is very basketball savvy and can help out the team in many ways, and I think her skills improved alot last year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p>According to the Comet Crusaders basketball coach, full-court pressure from opponents caused a multitude of issues for WTA last year. If Williston Trinity-Alexander can enhance their overall awareness of how aggressive teams are trying to play defensively, Washington expect his club to have a fighting chance to be competitive throughout the year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Ideally, I would like us to play at full speed with no hesitancy. Congratulations!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Greta was the co-winner along with Caitlyn Tveter of New Town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the classroom, Eder has maintained a perfect 4.00 grade point average all through junior high and high school. On the court this year, she led the Crusaders in every statistical category.
