Parents/Students/Families/Supporters

of Williston Trinity Christian School

We were able to work with the teaching staff today; and collaboratively came up with a tentative plan for educating your sons and daughters in a possible extended school building closure that could continue in lieu of COVID 19 virus pandemic.  We are anticipating next week being a closed school as well.  By Friday afternoon, March 20th at the latest, we anticipate ND Governor Burgum making the decision regarding school opening/closing for next week.

Teachers are working hard to create quality distance instruction during this time. Administration and teachers met to discuss the best plan of action to do this. Although teachers will mold into what works best for their style and for their students, they worked together to find some common ground on how to deliver information to families.  The teachers will be administering a mixture of email, paper packets, and Google Classroom as the main platforms for teaching. Within Google Classroom, teachers will communicate and layout assignments for the students.

For Google Classroom to work for everyone, families will need a Gmail account.  Sheri Moonen, our Communications Director, will be sending families with non-Google email accounts (Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.) a new Gmail address to use.  This will enable the families to access all educational information from their teachers.

Our educational distance plan is designed to enhance your child’s education from the current state.  Our goal is to create a fun, yet productive educational presence without too much disruption in our curriculum during this non face-to-face season of Williston Trinity Christian School.  As we roll this out, please be patient as it is still in its development stage.  We are committed to continually adding, improving, and adapting to make this a smooth transition to make this an excellent representation of education from WTCS.  Our goal is to continue as the premier Christian educational institution in the region.  We have the most dedicated, thoughtful, prayerful staff that I have ever worked with.  They certainly miss seeing your precious children every day.  We are excited for the upcoming interaction of this new format with the teachers and your student (s).

We certainly do not want to make this any more stressful or create any more anxiety for your family.  Please call/email/visit with us with your concerns.  We will strive to accommodate and adapt if needed for your family as much as we can.

Please call/email inform us if your family currently doesn’t have access to the internet or have any other challenges.

Materials/packets will be available for pick up on Monday, March 23rd, barring the decision of Governor Burgum.

  • We will have a plan for each student in PreS, PreK, and K – 5th grade, which will include packets, any digital/electronic learning, and any specific instruction ready for your student.
  • 6th – 12th graders will have a plan/packet from each teacher available on Monday as well.
  • Pickup is from 8:30am – 12:30pm on Monday for families with last name beginning with A thru M.
  • Families with last name starting with N thru Z, can pickup materials from 12:30pm –  4:00pm.
  • We will also be open Tuesday, March 24 from 8:30am to 5:30pm for any families that were not able to pick up on Monday.

Families, please consider picking up extra coats, and boots on Monday and Tuesday as well.  We are striving to completely deep clean every area of the school.  Without the extra garments, this will accelerate, accommodate, and streamline our cleaning efforts.

We will continue to pray for your families and the situation surrounding the pandemic.

He is control.

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you;

do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you;

I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

God Bless
