united-wayDuring the week of October 31st, WTCS will be holding a “Pennies for People” campaign.  The campaign is organized through the Williston Basin United Way which donates over $150,000 a year to organizations to help improve the lives of many people.

The Williston Basin United Way serves not only the city of Williston, but all of Williams, Divide, and McKenzie counties.  The UW sponsors a number of different organizations who work hard in our communities to provide for people and families who are in need.  Some of the organizations that the United Way provides to are the Salvation Army, Boy & Girl Scouts of America, Rural Fire Department, and the American Red Cross to name a few.  The United Way also serves many programs that benefit the youth of our area.  The United Way has been a sponsor for Kids Day Out, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Williston Sea Lions, Williston Wrestling Club, Marketplace for Kids, and many more.

Next week we are asking students to make a small donation to the United Way.  Each classroom will receive a bucket to place in their classroom next week.  Students are encouraged to bring change as a donation to the United Way.  This campaign gives students the opportunity to give back to their community.

The United Way will also be sponsoring a free Pizza Party for the classroom that raises the most money as a way to say thank you to our students.  If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher or school.

On behalf of the Williston Basin United Way Board, I want to thank you for your support!!

Sincerely,

Jeremy Mehlhoff
