SEW 2021

S.E.W. Summary

October 11-14, 2021

We had an amazing week last week for our fall Spiritual Emphasis Week.  The students had a variety of activities to participate in and they seemed to enjoy all of them.

We started our week with an all-school chapel service in the gym.  Our praise team led us in some worship songs and then we heard from Mr. Randy Schlossin who told us about our upcoming opportunity with Feed My Starving Children.  He gave statistics on the number of children in the world  who die from starvation every day.  Some of these children are praying for food, and we at WTCS are privileged to be part of the answer to their prayers even though they are halfway around the world!

On Tuesday we had another all school chapel service in the gym.  This time our guest speaker was Todd Erickson and his friend, Rex the Wonder Dog.  The students all LOVE it when they come to share with us.  Todd gave us a very good reminder of WHY we do things such as pack food bags for the hungry.  We don’t just do it so that people will think we are good kids.  We do it so that our light can shine for Jesus.  We want people to see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven!

On Wednesday we again gathered in the chapel for even more opportunities for ministry.  We started out by learning a song for our verse of the year, 1 Corinthians 16:13-14  Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong.  Do everything in love.  Then we started our Memory Verse Partner activity.  Each elementary student was paired with upper grade students and we spread out in the gym to begin working on a 100-verse Bible Memory Challenge!  It was awesome to see the entire student body studying God’s Word together.  We spent about 15 minutes on the Bible Memory activity, then we gathered back and presented Campus Chaplain Adam Coughlin with some notes and words of encouragement in honor of Pastor Appreciation month.  We have been blessed to have him with us and we wanted to show our appreciation.

Our last activity during that chapel session was watching some videos promoting a ministry called Project Ignite Light.  It is a ministry to children who are victims of abuse.  We were presented with opportunities that we as a school can help by providing items for backpacks that are distributed to children when they are taken from their homes and placed in foster care.  We will be setting goals for our school in the coming days.  Some of the possibilities are:  making fleece blankets, purchasing pajamas, socks, underwear, personal items such as shampoo, toothbrushes, etc.  The ministry website is www.ignitelight.org

Thursday and Friday were the days that we participated in Feed My Starving Children.  Students from first grade through seniors participated in packing food for this ministry.  It was amazing to see how our students worked so hard and so cheerfully on this project!

This was open to community members as well and we had several guests who came and helped us pack food packets. Total for the week was: 772 boxes–186,624 meals!

Check out Tru_Serva in action as he performed live at US Bank Stadium: “Never Let Go” (Pule Twin Cities)- https://youtu.be/wz1itUEz1Tk

Marcus Montana, known as TRU-SERVA to his music audience, is a passionate man whose mission is to help others find true life.

At age 16, while TRU was at the end of his rope, drained from the emptiness of unfulfilling pleasure, he came face to face with Christ. He chose to take a spiritual step and committed to a personal relationship with Jesus.

TRU felt a calling to use his talent of hip-hop to help change lives. From a young age, hip-hop influenced his style, language and attitude and it felt natural to use this genre of music and way of life to help reach people. Through his rap lyrics, he portrays a powerful message of the cross and of a positive change. He sees himself as an overcomer and an example of hope to many.

A strong vision for connection is what this musician strives to accomplish each and everyday.

See You At The Pole

Join us at Williston Trinity Christian School on Wednesday, Sept. 22nd at 7:00am at the flagpole out front for See You at the Pole. There will be refreshments in the cafeteria afterwards.

See You at the Pole™ is simply a prayer rally where students meet at the school flagpole before school to lift up their friends, families, teachers, school, and nation to God.

See You at the Pole™, the global day of student prayer, began in 1990 as a grass roots movement with ten students praying at their school. Twenty years later, millions pray on their campuses on the fourth Wednesday in September.

James 4:10 – “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.”
