WTCS Board Positions Open

The WTCS School Board has 3 three-year term board positions open for new board members. Application forms are available in the school office and are due by the end of the workday on Monday, April 11th.

The Williston Trinity Christian School Board is responsible for setting the school budget, hiring the administrator, and working alongside the administrator in strategic planning for the school.

Serving on the school board is an impactful way to fulfill your volunteer hours while having a front row seat to see how God is working in our school. You will get to know staff, be intimately involved in your child’s school, and support the future of Christian education in our corner of the world. The board typically meets on a monthly basis. We’d love for you to prayerfully consider applying.

Please feel free to reach out to any board member with questions.

ACSI Day of Prayer & Fasting

Last week, WTCS held an All School Chapel on Tues., Feb. 15th where we all gathered together in prayer for the ACSI Day of Prayer. This is an annual event through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) which invites everyone to UNITE & PRAY for Christ-centered education. During the special chapel time, the high school prayer team, the middle school choir, and the elementary students all shared special music and several staff members prayed over different areas of the school.

In addition to chapel, the entire day was focused on prayer:

  • Students & staff gathered together during the 6:45 CRU, a weekly breakfast & Bible study group for grades 6-12.
  • Teachers were encouraged to do a prayer walk with their students.
  • Parents & community members were invited to participate in an 18-hour prayer time.

Below are specific areas of prayer led by WTCS teachers & staff:

Campus Chaplain Adam Coughlin prayed over the leadership team and the office staff. He prayed for unity and for them to be encouraged in their daily lives.

School Administrator Mr. Jeremy Thomas prayed over the finances of the school. He thanked God for His faithful provision and prayed for wisdom to know how to be good stewards of God’s gifts to the school.  He prayed that people would be willing to invest time, skills, abilities, talents, and finances so that WTCS can continue to equip students to go out into the world as Kingdom Builders.

Music teacher Mr. Glaeden Boyd prayed over the music, arts, and tech departments.  He prayed that students would grow in their abilities and be able to show those around them that these are gifts from God and that they can be used to show His glory and beauty.

Physical education teacher Mr. Jordan Foster prayed over the athletics of the school.  He thanked God for the ability to participate in all the activities offered and prayed that the student athletes would shine the light of Jesus to their teammates and the spectators at their activities.

Vice-principal Mrs. Angela Nible prayed over the Elementary school teachers and students.  She prayed that the teachers would remember what an honor it is to teach God’s little ones.  She also prayed that each student would have a mind open to learn and a heart ready to receive from Jesus.

High school history teacher Mrs. Breann Coughlin prayed over the English, Spanish, and History departments.  She dedicated them to the Lord and prayed that the students would develop critical thinking skills, discernment, and have the desire to learn. She prayed that the teachers would have the wisdom they need to teach.  She prayed for creativity and for everyone involved to learn to communicate effectively.

Sophomore Elliott Coughlin prayed over the math and science departments.  She thanked the Lord for good teachers who build up the students as they teach.

Music and junior high Bible teacher Mr. Marc Anderson prayed over the Bible classes and chapels that these times would equip students to go out and share the love to Jesus with others.

Third grader teacher Mrs. Heidi Lee prayed over the families at WTCS.  She prayed that every family would be rooted in Christ, focused on Him and that each person would take time to pray, be in God’s presence, and experience His love and goodness.  She ended her prayer with this quote – “May our children see Jesus in us and may we see Jesus in our children.”

Please continue to be in prayer for WTCS this week.  Pray that we can represent Christ well to the community of Williston.

WTCS Senior Derek Lee signs with Univ. of Jamestown

Derek Lee, Senior at Williston Trinity Christian School, signed his letter of intent to play baseball at the University of Jamestown. Derek is a three sport athlete – playing basketball for the WTCS Crusaders and participating through a co-op with Williston High School in soccer and baseball. He is a 3 year captain for basketball and was named a captain for the 2021 soccer team.

Derek is excited to continue his baseball career at the University of Jamestown. Derek says, “I love the game of baseball. I’m thankful to UJ Coach Hager for the opportunity to continue doing what I love. I also want to thank all of my Williston coaches – WHS Coach Finders and Post 37 Keybirds’ Coach Egge and all of my other coaches for the time they have put into helping me develop as a player. I’m grateful for my family and friends and for their support.”

Derek has maintained a 4.1 GPA and is a member of the Cru Honors Institute. He plans to pursue a degree in Physical Therapy.

“We are so proud of Derek and the effort he has put into everything he does,” say parents Chad and Jamie Lee. “He is a great example of how hard work and determination can help you achieve your goals. We are thankful for the amazing group of teachers and coaches who have poured into him over the years.”

Quote from WHS Head Baseball Coach Aaron Finders: “Derek Lee has a bright future in his academics and in baseball at Jamestown.  He has worked very hard to have this opportunity. I’m so proud and happy for Derek and his family.”

Quote from WTCS Basketball Coach Braaten:  “Derek has been everything you want in a student athlete. I can say without a doubt that he not only has been one of my most reliable, constant basketball players over the last 4 years, he also became a great friend. There are certain players in a coach’s career that will stand out as more than just a player. Derek is one of those players. Baseball is his priority, but as a basketball coach I could never tell. He would do anything and everything to try and make his basketball training fit within his baseball training. Derek has a rare gift of being very athletic, great iq on and off the court, driven, and coachable. These gifts are what makes him such a special basketball and baseball player. I know without a doubt he will continue to excel in every area of his life, academically and extracurricularly.”

Ellie is model student athlete that holds strongly in the classroom, the hops, and quickness on the court that will shed greatly with Teton Volleyball! Ellie says she is feeling so blessed and thankful for an opportunity like this. She is beyond excited to play the sport she loves, while also being challenged in her skills! She also can’t wait to meet so many other great athletes and make friendships that will last her a lifetime! She is currently undecided in her planned area of study, but her plan is to complete her general studies at WSC and then continue on to earn her degree in a health profession/career. Welcome to the Teton Family Ellie!”

More from her soon-to-be volleyball coach at Williston State College, Chelsea Hinck:When ask how she found Ellie: “I watched Ellie briefly in her junior season at WTCS and immediately noticed her impact on the court. Picking up and scouting her live via NFHS Live Streams, I knew she could potentially be a prospect for our program here at Williston State. Ellie filled out a recruiting form through our Athletics website AND sent me an email, and I then knew her high interest with Teton Volleyball. We met after one of our home matches in The Well and it all started from that point on to get her here on campus.”

What about Ellie makes you excited to have her join the WSC Tetons? “I am thrilled to say that her instant ability to connect with the team will bring high potential in her freshman year at WSC. She will bring a new and positive outlook to my program.
